Ashley Morgan is a jazz trumpet player, leader of The Ashley Morgan Quartet, one half of the Enormous Horns, one third of The Enormous Legacy, co-founder and co-owner of analogue vinyl, cassette and minidisc independent musician’s record label Big Arena Records, founder and owner of independent analogue cassette and minidisc record labels 447 Records and 7611 Records and founder and owner of independent analogue jazz vinyl record label E & R Records.

Ashley Morgan’s quartet of record labels operates collectively as Ashley Morgan Recordings with specific formats handled by Ashley Morgan vinyl recordings, Ashley Morgan cassette recordings and Ashley Morgan minidisc recordings.

No digital music is present on any of Ashley Morgan’s record labels. Digtal music is fake. Analogue is real. Digital music sounds processed, because it is. Digital music sounds weak, because it has no substance. Digital sounds worthless, because it is worthless.

In going 100% analogue, Ashley Morgan has eschewed online distribution outlets such as iTunes in favour of real, face to face, physical distribution through independent record shops across the world.

Along with Paul Varga and Davy Lawrence, Ashley Morgan founded Big Arena Records in 2005. Originally intended as a vehicle to resurrect, re-record, promote, distribute and sell the music of Enormous, a band whose members had been mutually, and in some cases forcibly, separated since 1997, Big Arena Records quickly grew into a fully fledged indie label with a small but perfectly formed talent roster.

In July 2010, and in true rock and roll style, Enormous split for a second time, the same ugly and irreconcilable differences surfacing once again, leaving the label to pick up the pieces.

Throughout 2011 Ashley Morgan made changes to E&R Records, 447 Records and 7611 Records as part of the Ashley Morgan Recordings project.

Big Arena Records continues to grow, managed by Ashley Morgan and Paul Varga, creating and promoting pure, real, home grown and independent British pop music.
